Solving the heart problem.…
Matthew 12 v33-37:”A tree is identified by its fruit. Make a tree good, and its fruit will be good. Make a tree bad, and its fruit will be bad. You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. A good person produces good words from a good heart,and an evil person produces evil words from an evil heart."

If you are sick, do you wait to see the doctor? Some think they can cure themselves a different way, consult the ‘experts’ or tough it out on their own..
Matthew 9 v 10:” The Pharisees were indignant.’ Why does your teacher eat with such scum?’’ they asked his disciples. When he heard this, Jesus replied, ‘Healthy people don’t need a doctor, sick people do’. ’

Don’t lose your flavor and keep your light shining! Jesus tells us to stay bright and flavorful and tell others about HIM!
Matthew 5 v 13: “You are the salt of the earth! But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it useful again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world, like a city on a mountain, glowing in the night for all to see. Don’t hide your light under a basket!

The turning point and start of Jesus’ ministry...Matthew 4 v 12-17: “When Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he left Judea and returned to Galilee. But instead of going to Nazareth, he went to Capernaum, beside the sea of Galilee, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali. This fulfilled Isaiah’s prophecy: In the land of Zebulun and of Naphtali, beside the sea, beyond the Jordan River, in Galilee where so many Gentiles live, the people who sat in darkness, have seen a great light. ”

Jesus shows us what humility is about: Matthew 3 v 13 - 17 “Then Jesus went from Galilee to the Jordan River to be baptized by John. But John didn’t want to baptize him. ‘I am the one who needs to be baptized by you’, he said, ‘so why are you coming to me?’ But Jesus said, ‘It must be done, because we must do everything that is right.’

Tear you hearts and turn to Jesus now. God sent his only Son Jesus to die for your sins. You can see it here….
Joel 2 v 12 – 13: “That is why the Lord says, “Turn to me now, while there is time! Give me YOUR HEARTS. Come with fasting, weeping and mourning. Don’t tear your clothing in your grief; instead, tear your hearts. RETURN TO THE LORD YOUR GOD, FOR HE IS GRACIOUS AND MERCIFUL. HE IS NOT EASILY ANGERED. HE IS FILLED WITH KINDNESS AND IS EAGER NOT TO PUNISH YOU.”

When Jesus arrives in your life you will be awakened by HIS light and you will be more disgusted by the evil you now can see because the veil is lifted…
Ephesians 5 v 12 – 14: “It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. But when the light shines on them, it becomes clear how evil these things are. And where your light shines, it will expose their evil deeds. This is why it is said, “Awake, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will give you light”

Have you dropped your net today? In addition to a similar passage in the book of Mark, Jesus tells us what is necessary to follow him with a whole heart…
Matthew 4 v 18 – 20: “One day as Jesus was walking along the shore beside the Sea of Gallilee, he saw two brothers, Simon, also called Peter and Andrew, fishing with a net, for they were commercial fishermen. Jesus called out to them, ‘Come, be my disciples, and I will show you how to fish for people!’

Jesus sees right into your heart and knows exactly where your heart is and what fruit you will produce.
Matthew 3 v 10 – 12: “Even now the ax of God’s judgment is poised, ready to sever your roots. Yes, every tree that does not produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into the fire’.

Until we are shown…
Galatians 3 v 23: “UNTIL FAITH IN CHRIST WAS SHOWN TO US AS THE WAY OF BECOMING RIGHT WITH GOD, we were guarded by the law. We were kept in protective custody, so to speak, until we could put our faith in the coming Savior.”

Rest for the weary and the fit is perfect…
Matthew 11: v 28-30: “Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. LET ME TEACH YOU, BECAUSE I AM HUMBLE AND GENTLE, and you will find REST for your souls. For my yoke fits perfectly, and the burden I give you is light.”

Words of encouragement to continue the fight…
Galatians 6 v 9 – 10: “So don’t get tired of doing what is good. Don’t get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time. Whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone, especially to our Christian brothers and sisters.”

John the Baptist was a preacher who lived in the wilderness that was born around the same time as Jesus. He told about Jesus coming. Matthew 3 v1 -6: “In those days John the Baptist began preaching in the Judean wilderness. His message was “Turn from your sins and turn to God, because the Kingdom of Heaven is near. Isaiah had spoken of John when he said. ‘He is a voice shouting in the wilderness; Prepare a pathway for the Lord’s coming! Make a straight road for him!’

The more you turn toward Jesus Christ, the more prepared you will need to be for the sting of rejection. Rejection from those around you who you care about the most who refuse and rebel against Christ Jesus. Even though they refuse now, every knee will bow later.
Even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will believe and give honor to God when he comes to judge the world.”

The more you turn toward Jesus Christ, the more prepared you will need to be for the sting of rejection. Rejection from those around you who you care about the most who refuse and rebel against Christ Jesus. Even though they refuse now, every knee will bow later.
1 Peter 2 v 11: “Dear brothers and sisters, you are foreigners and aliens here. So I warn you to keep away from evil desires because they fight against your very souls. Be careful how you live among your unbelieving neighbors.

cont.d Isaiah 3 v 1 – 7: People will take advantage of each other, man against man, neighbor fighting neighbor. Young people will revolt against authority, and nobodies will sneer at honorable people. In those days a man will say to his brother, ‘since you have a cloak, you be our leader! Take charge of this heap of ruins! No, he will reply. I can’t help, I don’t have any extra food or clothes. DON’T ASK ME TO GET INVOLVED!.”

cont.d Isaiah 3 v 1 – 7: He will destroy all the nation’s leaders, the heroes, soldiers, judges, prophets, diviners, elders, army officers, honorable citizens, advisers, skilled magicians, and expert enchanters. Then he will appoint children to rule over them, and anarchy will prevail. People will take advantage of each other, man against man, neighbor fighting neighbor. Young people will revolt against authority, and nobodies will sneer at honorable people.

Isaiah was a prophet in the Old Testament who God gifted with the ability to predict what would happen. In this passage we are encouraged to wake up from our slumber and recognize that Jesus died for every sin and we need to turn from our sin now and follow Him?
Isaiah 3 v 1 – 7: “The Lord, the Almighty, will cut off the supplies of food and water from Jerusalem and Judah."

Isaiah 2 v 19 - 22 (cont.d) "In this way, they will try to escape the terror of the Lord and the glory of his majesty as he rises to shake the earth. STOP PUTTING YOUR TRUST IN MERE HUMANS. THEY ARE AS FRAIL AS BREATH. HOW CAN THEY BE OF HELP TO ANYONE?”

There is no hole deep enough…
Isaiah 2 v 19 – 22: “When the Lord rises to shake the earth, his enemies will crawl with fear into holes in the ground. THEY WILL HIDE IN CAVES IN THE ROCKS FROM THE TERROR OF THE LORD AND THE GLORY OF HIS MAJESTY. They will abandon their gold and silver idols to the moles and bats. They will crawl into caverns and hide among the jagged rocks at the tops of cliffs."
