If someone can no longer pay the monthly fee due to a collapse will the services stop? And if that is the case, why would I or anyone waist money on that service that will clearly fail in real crisis over other survival gear?

But, what happens if the computer that has the record of prepayment is offline (say by EMP)? This question needs to be addressed, otherwise you're right, what sense would there be in relying on this?
