If you are shooting low, lower your sites .. if you are shooting high raise them .. sounds wrong but it isn't .. pick a short yardage for pistols 25-50 feet .. 1 to 4 hundred yards for a rifle .. most use 100 yards. Up to 400yds would be used for deer hunting. Everyone uses a different system that works for them.
