PREVAILING PRAYER
E.M. Bounds 1835-1913
“In the three words ask, seek, knock, in the order in which He places them, Jesus urges the necessity of importunity in prayer. Asking, seeking, knocking, are ascending rounds in the ladder of successful prayer. No principle is more definitely enforced by Christ than that prevailing prayer must have in it the quality which waits and perseveres, the courage that never surrenders, the patience which never grows tired, the resolution that never wavers.”
REDEFINING
Leonard Ravenhill 1907-1994
“God has no mild views of sin, so let's get back to biblical language. The soothsayers in the world are dangerous, but the smooth-sayers in the pulpit are equally dangerous. We now call iniquity "infirmity." Wickedness is just "weakness"; adultery and fornication, just "having an affair." Lust is called "love." Sodomy is now being "GAY." The Harlot is
not called a "Whore" anymore; she is inoffensively named a "Call Girl." These are not terms for every sermon, but they have some kind of intimidation and disgrace attached to them, which makes the preachers afraid to use them (and sinners afraid to hear them). But the Bible uses them!”
ADVICE FOR ELDERS
“Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly, not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God.” 1 Peter 5:2
1 Peter 5:2
Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
A more “imperative” mood is involved in this “charge”, not advice….
sooo negative (filthy lucre) that modern “Christians” find it unsavory, and change it to their own shame…..all, of course, reflecting one’s love toward Christ…..
(feeding Gods flock sugar water)
BIBLICAL ELDERSHIP
Peter Said - 1 Peter 5:1-4
And now, a word to you who are elders in the churches. I, too, am an elder and a witness to the sufferings of Christ. And I, too, will share in his glory when he is revealed to the whole world. As a fellow elder, I appeal to you: Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God. Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example. And when the Great Shepherd appears, you will receive a crown of never-ending glory and honor.
FAULT FINDERS
Dwight L. Moody 1837-1899
“Love will rebuke evil, but will not rejoice in it. Love will be impatient of sin, but patient with the sinner. To form the habit of finding fault constantly, is very damaging to spiritual life; it is about the lowest and meanest position that a man can take. I never saw a man who was aiming to do the best work, but there could have been some improvement; I never did anything in my life, I never addressed an audience, that I didn't think I could have done better and I have often upbraided myself that I had not done better; but to sit down and find fault with other people when we are doing nothing ourselves, not lifting our hands to save some one, is all wrong, and is the opposite of holy, patient, divine love.”
DO WHAT YOU WANT
Charles Finney 1792-1875
“it is impossible that true love to God can exist, and yet with it no desire to please Him and do his will. The heart of love will be continually raising the question--"Lord, what wilt Thou have me to do?" "Lord, how shall I most fully please Thee?“ What then shall we think of those thousands of nominal Christians who profess to love God, and yet do nothing to please God, and everything to please themselves?”
VICTORY IN JESUS
RUSS DIZDAR 1955-2021
“God wants to move us to becoming undefeatable, immoveable, the body of Christ is to be indestructible. And I believe all that God has given us In Christ to win the victories over the world, the flesh, & the devil are there.” (see Luke 10:19)

Evil and Moral Law
Chuck Missler 1934–2018
Atheists often present the problem of evil to theists as if it is a fatal argument for the existence of God. Nothing could be further from the truth. In reality, it is an absolutely unsolvable problem for the atheist. How does the atheist explain evil-the sense of moral right and wrong-in the absence of a moral Lawgiver? They can't! If there is no moral Lawgiver, then there is no way to explain the sense of moral wrong and moral right we all possess. C.S. Lewis said that evil is God's megaphone to a non-believing world. Evil speaks of moral law. Moral law demands a moral Lawgiver, and it is He that we call God!
HEARD IN HEAVEN
E.M. Bounds 1835-1913
“Heaven has harkening ears only for the whole-hearted, and the deeply-earnest. Energy, courage, and persistent perseverance must back the prayers which heaven respects, and God hears.”
A PROUD HEART
Charles Finney 1792-1875
“The man of a proud heart will not see his own faults. He has no desire to see them. He would sooner see anything else in the world than see the bad side of his own character, and of course he takes every precaution to avoid the honest view of himself.
He has no intention or even desire to find his own proper level in society, but tries to deceive both himself and others. He would fain imagine that he is vastly better than he really is, and make everybody else believe it if he can. Hence he will overlook his own faults either wholly, or at least as far as he can, and would be glad to make others do the same. This is one of the workings of a proud heart.’
SANCTIFIED IN TRUTH
Andrew Murray 1828-1917
“Christ’s giving up His will in Gethsemane and accepting God’s will in dying; Christ’s doing that will in the obedience to the death of the cross, this is His sanctifying Himself, and this is our being sanctified in truth. ‘In which will we have been sanctified.’ The death to self, the utter and most absolute giving up of our own life, with its will and its power and its aims, to the cross, and into the crucifixion of Christ, the daily bearing the cross, not a cross on which we are yet to be crucified, but the cross of the crucified Christ in its power to kill and make dead, this is the secret of the life of holiness, this is true sanctification.”
THE LAWLESS ONE
The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
2 Thessalonians 2:9-12
@HymnRevival777 Do you wish to add any commentary to this scripture?
@HymnRevival777 Scripture doesn't usually need commentary. I will say, though, that the Anti Christ comes in peacefully and then creates havoc with the world and demands worship of him. We have been warned.
ENEMIES OF THE CROSS
Charles Spurgeon - 1835-1892
“ They who shirk (avoid) his service, who take no interest in holy enterprises, who just try to live to themselves, — your eaters and your drinkers, your hoarders and your men and women who are ever adorning the body, but never consecrating their souls to God, — these are they who are “the enemies of the cross of Christ.” It galls their shoulders, and they will not bear it, so they turn aside to ways of their own.”
@HymnRevival777 Once America brought gay marriage into law, the country fell prey to the worst kinds of perversion, death and criminality.

YOU GOT NO RIGHT
Leonard Ravenhill 1907-1994
“You have no right to sin. If you have sin in your life, you've got something which is illegal in the sight of God; you're giving the devil a hand in your life.”
“Christianity is NOT a sinning-repenting religion! It's a victorious religion! There should be a place where you quit your sinning!”
“Partial obedience is disobedience!”
“A sinning man stops praying, a praying man stops sinning.”
@HymnRevival777
Methodists have a “holiness” teaching that is simply ridiculous, bringing much criticism upon Christians.
In your new nature? You never sin….
But if you are yet breathing? You share Adams nature, which absolutely sins daily….
WAKE UP!

THE REAL CHURCH
William Tyndale 1494-1536

THE DOORS
Jonathan Edwards 1703-1758
“The doors of a wicked man’s heart are open to devils. They have free access there, though they are shut against God and Jesus Christ.”

IMITATION OF EVIL
Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God.
3 John 1:11
REFLECTED LIGHT
Dwight L. Moody 1837-1899
“Just like the moonshine, our light is borrowed light. When we are living in the light of our Savior we shine with His light: somewhat like the face of Moses, which shone after he had been in the mount with God. Let us live in an atmosphere of heaven, and we cannot help shining. But whenever we get downcast and weak in faith, then we are sure to lose our light.”
LICENSE REVOKED
Charles Spurgeon - 1835-1892
"No man who is the friend of the cross of Christ will give license to his passions, or indulgence to his appetites. If he does so, he proves that he is the enemy of the cross of Christ. No man will seek honour for himself who has known that Christ has bought him with his blood. He will not, he cannot, he dare not live for himself, either in the accumulating of wealth, or the getting of fame, or the enjoyment of pleasure. His first, chief, master-thought is, “For Jesus Christ all things, — all things in him, and for him, and to him, seeing that he has redeemed us with his precious blood.”
