@Newstarget Southerners have long been ridiculed by northerners for doing all of those things. Another thing that’s cool is saying yes ma’am and no ma’am ( or sir). My own son called me out for saying yes ma’am to a representative of ATT while asking for help. I raised him better than that. My parents insisted on my showing respect to my elders and working with the public on a daily basis I had to do it. It became a habit that I continue today.

Yup…..I’ve had truck drivers tell me, problems on the road south of Mason Dixon line is met with 1. use of phone, 2. invitation to sit down and eat……north of Mason Dixon : you’re on your own
I’m sure there are exceptions…..just an observation about social trends in hospitality
