I'm an herb nerd. I grow roughly 60 species of medicinal herbs. I have crafted natural body care products for almost 15 years. I've practiced aromatherapy and herbalism for about 20 years. I am a chronic DIYer, I love making things. I follow a nature based spiritual path. I also love animals. I strive to live a regenerative lifestyle, instead of just sustaining, why not regenerate.

If you have HBO Max you need to watch this show, especially if you have kids. It's called Undercover Underage. It is about the non profit SOSA which stands for Safe from Online Sex Abuse. They pose as under age girls online to catch sexual predators then are able to hand over evidence to the local police to arrest the perpetrators. If you think your kids are safe online, think again.

It's that time of year again....to distill herbs. I'll be doing lavender, yarrow and if I have time catnip and lemon balm.
This blog post I think is very timely, how to grow an herbal lawn. I started this probably 5 years ago. Every year I took out more grass and got more herbs established. I added red clover last year. This year I'm adding wild lettuce among others. Being able to heal ourselves is going to become more and more important in the future. There's nothing like walking out into your own herbal farmacy.

I'm so excited I finally got microgreens to grow in abundance. I've tried before and everything died. I finally got it right. It's so great to have fresh greens in the middle of winter. I've even gotten lettuce, radishes and carrots going inside. Who needs to wait till spring
I found a package of seeds at the nursery that was a variety of grasses, meant for cats but I thought my dog will love this. So when I planted all of my microgreens I did half a flat with this grass mixture. Now my little pug has her own salad bar, and yep she loves it. When I first put it down she went over to it and stuck her face right in the middle and just smelled it. Then started nibbling.
Well it looks like I'll be losing my job at the end of December. We got the dreaded email that you either comply and get the death shot or you're gone. My only hope is my religious exemption I submit on Monday. Who knows maybe this is the universe giving me a swift kick in the rear to finally start my health coach/herb/aromatherapy business. The wind from one door closing opens another, at least I hope it does.

Herbal AcademyTime to start working on your fall medicine making. I like putting in cinnamon, cloves, and ginger while simmering. You can add so many different herbs and customize the syrup.
