"Harvey Edwards, 19, was taking antibiotics for the infection but, when his symptoms worsened, he went to A&E last month.
"The teenager, a student at University of Liverpool, was given an MRI scan and told the devastating news he had a bleed on his brain.
"In a bid to tackle the bleed, and alleviate pressure on the teenager's brain, Harvey was told he would need to be put in an induced coma.
"But he suffered a stroke and his family had to make the heart-breaking decision to turn off his life support on June 28, Liverpool Echo reports."
