When the Hebrews made their exodus from Egypt, throughout their journey, it was a battle to make it to the promised land. They went through many steps and encountered many challenges along the way; including a fight against the Amalekites. ⁠

During the battle, whenever Moses lifted the rod of the Lord Israel prevailed, but when the rod would come down the Amalekites prevailed. When Moses’ arms grew tired and the rod came down, Aaron and Hur placed a stone under him and held his hands up, one on each side. ⁠
