Proverbs 15:1 KJV
A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
@RuthieB I liked the scriptural quote of Proverbs 15:1. It is edified further in James 3:5-8. Thank you Ruth for sharing.
@zwartepiet Give Caesar what is Caesar's and give YHVH (God) what is God's. (Jesus Christ words to you). Greater is YHVH than any nation.
"All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity." Isaiah 40:17
America, and the western nations, are receiving their just punishment. You can't accept the killing of children from a womb as being 'fine.' You can't ignore YHVH and do as you please for your own pleasure by breaking His commandments when it is convenient. People want things to go back to the 'sinful' lifestyle they enjoyed before? I guess YHVH (God) should allow Sodom to keep going right along without correction.
Let them fight. They will not win. Sorry, the truth is repentance and it is the ONLY way a nation can be saved. (see Jonah 3:6-9). Understand that I am not against devout Christians but rather those who want sin back as a way of normality.
@col4YHVH these over the top , big picture reactions always win an argument
but aren't you God's hands and feet in this world?
are you not entrusted with talents? or have you buried them in the sand?
everything is not only spiritual
there is in this world also physical part
and god has chosen to do his work through people
so pick a side and do something
resist evil and it will flee from you...help to resist give what you can spare

@zwartepiet It is not about winning some argument! I see things differently.
Look, hands or feet of YHVH (God) are FOR doing HIS WILL not our own.
America was once a nation of God fearing people who did good.
That is no longer the case. We ALLOW corruption and pure evil to exist.
In fact, turning a blind eye is what always got YHVH's (God's) people in trouble.
As you said, "...in this world."
What does Jesus says about being "in this world?" John 17:14-16
HIS words not mine.
Sorry if it means to not become overly concerned about events and people of this planet.
Yes, YHVH (God) has chosen people to "do His work" but are we doing His work or our own?
