Because Putin declared that all russian gas must be paid in rubles from now on. Europe refuses to accept this "EXTORTION" and USA declared that it's going to ship more LNG to Europe. More for us (at record high prices of course!), less for you.
... say bye-bye to your gas AND your dollar.
