@ratatoskr I wouldn't be worried about it, the same material (a purified silicon) is used to make contact lenses and many other similar medical components and is known to be non-toxic, very clear, safe, inert and a food grade version is used in many cooking oils and foods to keep from foaming when cooked. I suggest the name scares some people however, did you know that many restaurants use a blend of acids to cook in? Primarily oleic acid (C18:1), linoleic acid (C18:2) and palmitic acid (C16:0) and is in fact what Chick-fil-a states that they fry their chicken in (as well as many other restaurants use this). (aka peanut oil).
